Something strange has happened on the Internet today. On Twitter, fans had come up with certain fixing allegations in the Indian Premier League after a deleted tweet from Mumbai Indians has sparked controversy on the internet. MI took on DC in match 27 of IPL 2020 on Sunday at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After winning the toss, DC elected to bat first. Ajinkya Rahane came in for the injured Rishabh Pant while Alex Carey made his way into the team in place of Shimron Hetmeyer. Batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 162 runs in the first innings for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs.
With Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav scoring the decent half-centuries, Mumbai Indians chased the target in very comfortable attire.
The franchises have been quite active on social media and have used the platforms quite well in terms of creating engagement among their fans. However, on Sunday, a tweet from the Mumbai Indians’ official account has sparked fixing allegations in the IPL and fans have once again taken aim at the entire tournament.
Right after the clash, Mumbai Indians posted a tweet stating the Delhi Capitals’ final score at the end of the first innings and to the surprise of many fans, both the scores were inch-perfect similar. The Mumbai Indians’ tweet stated that DC will finish at 163/5 in their innings and surprisingly, DC finished at 162 at the cost of 4 wickets.

However, soon after the post went viral, the tweet is nowhere to be found on the internet. However, the fans were quick enough to take screenshots and shared it on the online platform sparking controversy after the game. Mumbai Indians won the game by 5 wickets and have now gone on top of the IPL 2020 points table. On the other hand, the IPL governing council and the BCCI might have to answer on behalf of the franchise in the coming days as this plot might soon turn out to be one of the defining moments in the history of the tournament.
